The Keota Eagle and Iowa Mennonite School boys and girls golf teams met English Valleys Monday at Lagos Acres in Keota for a triangular meet.

The Keota boys were winners with a 179 team score, edging EVs 182. Keota was led by Luke Hammen and Branden Hyman with matching 43s. Max Johnson finished with a 46 and Chase Kindred a 47. After the meet Keota head coach Mike Jacobsen talked about his team’s play. “I was pleased with it. I thought anything in the 170s today with as windy as it was would be a good score. EV had some really good golfers, they have been in the 170s all year, so to beat a team like that I’m pretty pleased with. To have four guys consistently in the 40s for us will keep us in the hunt down the road.”

The IMS boys did not post a team score but were led by Trevor Leyden’s 47. London Schrock and Cole Roth shot matching 56s.

On the girls side, English Valleys was the only school to post a team score, finishing with a 199. Keota was led by Lauren Imhoff with a 58, Lindsey Imhoff finished with a 62. Kennedy Roth shot a 70 for IMS.
