
A baby was located alone in a hotel room and the mother was arrested. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 11:14 a.m. Saturday housekeeping found a five- or six-month old infant alone in a hotel room in Riverside. Staff was trying to locate the mother, who had left the room approximately 40 minutes earlier. Washington County Sheriff’s personnel responded and arrested 40-year-old Tamara Banks of Cedar Rapids for child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no drivers license. The baby was turned over to family and there is a referral to the Department of Human Services.
