
The Iowa Mennonite School boys soccer team travels to Fairfield Monday for a non-conference match with the Trojans.
IMS comes into the game with an overall record of 4-1. They are currently ranked No. 7 in class 1A in the latest poll from the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association. In their last match they knocked off Mediapolis 3-1 on the road. For the year, IMS is led by Louis Ettiene with nine goals, sixth most in class 1A. He and Toby Chen hold the team lead with four assists. In goal, Blake Bontrager has stopped 22 of the 25 shots he has seen for an 88% save percentage.
Fairfield comes into the match with an overall record of 5-4. The Trojans won at Keokuk on Thursday 4-1. Fairfield is receiving votes in the class 2A poll. On the year they are led by Leone Gichure and Nicholas Frisbie, each with seven goals. Gichure and Isaac Rosales lead Fairfield with four assists each. In goal, Maxwell Anderson has stopped 25 of the 42 shots he has seen for a 60% save percentage. These two teams met a year ago with IMS taking a 4-2 win. Action begins tonight at 4:30 at Fairfield High School.
