
Another meet and another top three finish for the Washington boys’ track team, as they traveled to Wapello on Tuesday night and finished third out of 10 teams.
The Demons tallied 83 points while the victorious Indians racked up 113. Winfield-Mt. Union also competed placing fifth with 52 points and Lone Tree was eighth with 31. The Demons’ Evan Horak controlled the long distance races placing first in the 1600m (4:54.97) and second in the 3200m (11:00.44). Ethan Hunt had the other championship for Washington in the 400m hurdles (57.07). Second place events included Mitchell Driscoll in the 400m dash (50.85), Kasen Bailey in the high jump (6’0’’), 4x100m relay (45.37), and shuttle hurdle relay (1:03.78).
The Wolves had three titles on the evening including Brandon Snowden in the 100m (11.43), Juanito Piper in the 200m (24.03), and Talon Newton in the high jump (6’1’’). Lone Tree’s Brady Dauber bested the whole field in the long jump (19’6.5’’) and Avery Knock was second in the 100m dash (11.72).
Washington and Winfield-Mt. Union hit the road to Mount Pleasant tonight while Lone Tree heads to West Burlington.
