Mid-Prairie will have to replace a van that was totaled in a wreck. According to Transportation Director Teresa Hartley, on February 11th a van was wrecked after another driver ran a stop sign in Kalona. No students were in the van at the time of the wreck, the driver did sustain minor injuries. The school van was considered a loss. To replace the van, the district accepted a bid from Charles Capper Ford for $25,836. Mid-Prairie received $10,826.35 from the other driver’s insurance company in settlement. The vehicle purchased is a 2019 Ford Transit Passenger Wagon that can fit up to eight passengers.
