The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys soccer team hit the pitch for the first time in 2019 when they traveled to Solon Thursday for a scrimmage with the Spartans.
The Hawks were 7-6 a season ago while Solon was 15-5. The Spartans took the 40 minute varsity scrimmage by a 2-0 score. Both Spartan goals came on deflections in the box. The Golden Hawks had a pair of quality chances that were both stopped by the Solon keeper. Mid-Prairie head coach Pat Cady said it was great to see his team on the big field and get a chance to see everyone in action. The two junior varsity teams also got on the field for a 30 minute scrimmage with Solon taking the contest 2-0.
