The Columbus boys’ basketball team had three players named in one form or another to the Southeast Iowa Superconference north division’s all-conference team.
Eric Valdez was first, being named to the first team. Despite the Wildcats’ struggles, Valdez put up 18.4 points per game in his junior campaign to finish fourth in the north in scoring. He also led the team in assists (55) and tied for the team lead in steals (32).
Junior Evan Rees and sophomore Mason Hodges each earned honorable mentions after finishing second and third on the team in scoring, respectively. The two also led the team in rebounds, with just four total boards separating their numbers.
