State Representative Joe Mitchell has been selected to lead the inaugural bi-partisan Iowa Future Caucus. Earlier this week, a brand-new caucus comprised of legislators age 40 and under was announced. The goal behind the newly formed caucus is for legislators to focus on issues that affect millennials in Iowa. According to Mitchell, one of the key issues he wants to work on is keeping young Iowans in the Hawkeye State, “When I went around to businesses around District 84 when I was running, I asked them what their biggest issue was, and it was workforce and being able to find skilled and qualified people to work for them.”
The Iowa Future Caucus is part of the nation-wide Millennial Action Project that’s designed to support elected officials under the age of 40 to work across party lines.
