A head-on two-vehicle wreck had one fatality in Keokuk County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, just before 7 a.m. Thursday a Buick Century driven by 49-year-old Martin McComas of Osceola was traveling eastbound on Highway 149, near Highway 21, when it crossed the centerline and collided with a westbound vehicle. The truck was being operated by 27-year-old Alexander Rebling of Fairfield. McComas was taken by helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospital but did not survive.

Agencies assisting at the scene were the Iowa State Patrol, Keokuk County EMS, Hedrick Fire and Rescue, and the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office.
