A head-on two-vehicle wreck was fatal in Keokuk County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, just before 7 a.m. Thursday a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Highway 149 near Highway 21 when it crossed the centerline and collided with a westbound vehicle. The names of those involved have not yet been released. One person was taken by helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospital but did not survive.

Agencies assisting at the scene were the Iowa State Patrol, Keokuk County EMS, Hedrick Fire and Rescue, and the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office. KCII will bring more information as it becomes official.
