Up to 160 homes in Lone Tree were without power part of Wednesday. According to Alliant Energy, at 8:30 a.m. they received reports of up to 30 homes without power. The power outages were caused by a downed power line that stemmed from the sub-zero temperatures. At 10:30 a.m. Alliant notified the city they would need to shut down the power for an additional 130 homes in order to fix the problem. Residents were advised to stay indoors and conserve heat until service could be restored. The problem was fixed and all 160 homes were back with power at 11 a.m.
