The Highland boys and girls basketball teams travel to Hillcrest Union Thursday to face off with Iowa Mennonite. 

The Highland boys come into the game with an overall record of 9-5. Last game they won at Danville 71-68 behind a 22 point performance from Zack Lasek. On the season the Huskies are led by Lasek scoring 18 points per game, third in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. His 145 rebounds are also best on the team and third in the conference. Trey Lasek leads the Huskies with 47 assists, sixth in the Superconference.

IMS comes into the game with an overall mark of 9-5. In their last game they won at Wapello 58-51 behind 22 points from Jeremy Niemeyer. On the season, IMS is led by Eli Ours scoring 14 points per game, ninth in the Superconference. Caleb Gingerich has the team lead with 78 assists, second in the Superconference. Jeremy Niemeyer leads IMS on the glass with 96 rebounds, seventh in the Superconference. These two teams met right before the Christmas holiday with IMS taking a 51-48 win on the road.

The Highland girls come into the game with an overall record of 12-6, last time out they were beaten in the Southeast Iowa Superconference Shoot Out by West Burlington 59-39, despite 16 points from Abbie Miller. On the year the Huskies are led by Aly Stokes at 18 points per game, fourth in the Superconference. Stokes also leads Highland with 61 assists, fifth in the Superconference. Her 210 rebounds are best on the team and tops in the state in class 2A.

The Iowa Mennonite girls enter play with an overall record of 7-10. Last time out they were beaten by Burlington, Notre Dame Friday in the Superconference Shoot Out 75-55, despite 29 points from Suzanna Yoder. On the year, Yoder leads IMS and all of class 1A, scoring 26 points per game. Her 75 assists are best on the team and third in the Superconference. Yani Gutierrez leads IMS on the glass with 121 rebounds, eighth in the Superconference. These two teams met in December with Highland taking a 51-25 win.
