The Sigourney-Keota wrestling team competed in the South Iowa Cedar League tournament this past Saturday, placing fourth as a team.

Despite not making top three in team scores, three Cobras came out as individual conference champions: Mason Dye at 113, Trent Hendricks at 138 and Mac Conrad at 182.  Fifth-ranked Dye rolled through the tournament, pinning both of his opponents, one of which took all of nine seconds.  Hendricks had to fight a little more, as his first two pins were followed by a neck-and-neck battle against Colfax-Mingo’s Cyden Finch that ended in an 11-10 decision.  Conrad won his two matches via major decision and fall, in that order.

Saturday brings sectionals, which the Cobras will host.
