THESE GAMES HAVE BEEN POSTPONED
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks host the Washington Demons Monday night for the latest chapter in their basketball rivalry.
The Mid-Prairie boys come into the game with an overall mark of 8-8 on the year after a 65-57 loss to Iowa City Regina on Saturday. For the season, Mid-Prairie is led by Tom Butters and Cale Robertson each at 14 points per game, eighth best in the River Valley Conference. Butters leads all of class 2A in rebounding with 184 total boards on the year. Brad Tornow leads the RVC and is eighth in class 2A with 84 assists.
Washington enters play with an overall record of 6-7. The Demons were a big winner last time out, crushing Keokuk 76-42. On the season the Demons are led by Cade Hennigan at 11 points per game, ninth best in the Southeast conference. Luke Turner leads the Demons with 41 assists on the year fourth in the conference while Trashaun Willis is best on the glass with 69 rebounds, seventh in the SEC. These two teams met last season in Washington with the Demons taking a 72-34 win.
In the girls contest the Golden Hawks enter play with an overall mark of 10-7 on the year. They fell at Iowa City Regina Saturday 39-26, despite 10 points from Maddie Nonnenmann. On the year the Golden Hawks are led by Shae Becker scoring 13 points per game, sixth in the River Valley Conference. Becker also leads the Golden Hawks with 106 rebounds, seventh in the RVC. Kessa Jones leads the Golden Hawks with 37 assists, seventh in the conference.
The Washington girls come into the game with an overall mark of 6-10. Last time out they fell to Keokuk 43-33. Olivia Pacha led the Demons in the loss with nine points. On the year Washington is led by Isabel Bailey at 8 points per game, seventh in the Southeast Conference. Kinsey Duwa has the team lead with 28 assists, eighth in the Southeast conference. On the glass its Olivia Pacha with 79 total boards, fifth in the league. These two teams met a season ago with the Golden Hawks taking a 57-46 road win.
