A garbage truck hit a car in downtown Washington Wednesday afternoon. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 2:19 p.m. a garbage truck hit a vehicle in the 200 block of South Marion. The truck pushed the vehicle into another parked vehicle. The driver was John Thornton of Salem.
