The Washington wrestling team had their final Southeast Conference duel of the year last night, beating Mount Pleasant by a total team score of 51-24.

The tone was set in the 132 match, with Washington’s Cade Pohren outlasting Avante Henley of Mount Pleasant to win by a 3-2 decision.  The Demons would follow that up with wins in the 138, 152, 182, 195, 285, 106, 120 and 126 weight classes.  David Hora had a notable performance at 152 by pinning his opponent in 17 seconds; but that wasn’t the fastest time.

Logan Escher came out firing on all cylinders at 195 against Mount Pleasant’s Trevor Wellington, pinning him in just seven seconds.  Tristin Westphal got the pin at 182 as well, securing career win number 155, which ties the school record.

Their next action comes in tournament form on Saturday when they head up to Solon for the Ed Hadenfeldt Wrestling Invitational.
