The Highland girls’ basketball team has been on fire of late as winners of 10 straight games.  They earned that 10th win on the road against Cardinal of Eldon last night, downing the Comets 68-30.

The Huskies were down after a quarter, with the score being 17-12 in Cardinal’s favor at the end of the first.  But the second quarter was a different story entirely.  The Huskies came out swinging, putting up 20 points and stifling the Cardinal offense by holding them to just two points.  The Comets would not score more than eight points in a quarter after their 17-point first period as the Huskies asserted their dominance and took a 38-point victory.

The win improves Highland to 12-2 on the year.  Their next action comes in a doubleheader tonight at home against Mediapolis, which is one of the only two teams to beat them yet this year.  Opening tip of their game is scheduled for 6:00, and the boys will follow.
