Hillcrest Union was buzzing Christmas Night as Iowa Mennonite School hosted their annual Midnight Madness celebration.

In a tradition that dates back to 1990, alumni and other members of the community made their way to the gym. Through the years more than 200 participants have taken to the court. Loren Hochstedler, from the class of 1971 has participated in the most events, attending 23 times. Those who have been there 10 or more times include Jason Hershberger and Randy Rempel from the class of ’92, Adam Ingersoll class of ’93, Aaron Swartzendruber class of ’94, Stephen Bender class of ’97, Joel Beachy and Marshall Swartzendruber class of ’98, Andy Swartzendruber and Doug Hochstedler class of ’99, Jerry Etheredge class of ’01, Karl Yoder class of ’02 and Luke Yoder class of ’04. Each player donates $5-10 to play and this collection is donated to Iowa Mennonite School.
