The Mid-Prairie wrestling team made the trip to Monticello Thursday night for a quadrangular meet with Monticello, Iowa City Regina and Clayton Ridge. The Hawks opened up the night facing the rival Regals and falling by a 45-24 count. Mid-Prairie got wins in contested matches from Dallas Miller at 138 by fall, Cory Allen at 170 by fall and Gannon Callahan at 285 by fall.
Mid-Prairie also fell in their second dual of the night with Monticello getting the 54-30 win. The Hawks got wins in contested matches from Cael Garvey at 160 by fall and Gannon Callahan at 285 by fall.
The Hawks bounced back in their final dual of the night, beating Clayton Ridge 52-12. Mid-Prairie got wins in contested matches from Rylee Vercande at 132 by fall, Dallas Miller at 138 by fall, Cory Allen at 170 by fall, Josh Wallington at 195 by major decision, Isaac Boucher at 220 by fall and Gannon Callahan at 285 by fall.
After the night Mid-Prairie freshman Gannon Callahan, the only Golden Hawk to go undefeated, talked about his matches.
