The Highland boys’ basketball team had a good first week of play, winning both of their first two games of the season.

The Huskies saw a little bit of everything between the first two games.  They played Holy Trinity Catholic at home on Thursday and beat them by 30, then turned around and played a two-overtime thriller against Mediapolis the very next night and won by three.  After a wild first week of play, head coach Marcus Hall is happy with what he’s seen from his guys so far.

“I like our team, I like our leadership right now.  I think there’s a lot of players stepping up, and that’s a good thing,” Hall said.  “So I feel confident going in [to Tuesday’s game], and I’m glad we had an example from last week where we can really learn from it and hopefully get better.”

Their next action comes at home on Tuesday night against Pekin.  The game is the second half of a double-header, which starts with the girls’ game at 6:00.
