After a tremendous 2018 season, awards keep coming in for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk cross country teams.

For the second consecutive season, Mid-Prairie head cross country coach Mark Hostetler has been named the class 2A coach of the year for the state of Iowa. Hostetler won the award in 2017 after the Mid-Prairie boys finished as state runners-up and the girls won their first ever state title. The 2018 season saw the Golden Hawk girls repeat as district and state champs, the first program in Mid-Prairie history to accomplish that feat, his daughter, Marie Hostetler capture her second consecutive individual state title and Quinn Schmidt qualify individually for the boys state meet in Fort Dodge.
