After a 4-0 start, the Highland football team played another one Friday night, losing at home to BGM 31-22.

Both of these teams came into Friday night unbeaten, with the Huskies holding home field advantage.  But the Bears’ rushing attack proved too much to handle, as BGM’s Noah Beck ran for 212 yards and four touchdowns on 33 carries.  This was partially due to the established passing game, with Scott Tibbetts throwing for 105 yards on eight completions for the Bears as well.

Even with the loss, though, head coach Scott Morel says he’s proud of the way his guys fought.

“We were down by two touchdowns, nut we continued to fight through,” Morel said. “That was huge for the guys.”

With the loss, the Huskies move to 4-1 on the season.  They’ll have another tough test ahead of them this week when they hit the road to take on seventh-ranked Pekin.  Kickoff is set for 7:00.
