After a 71-12 loss on the road a week ago, the WACO football team played in front of a home crowd last night, taking on Montezuma and winning 37-34.

In a game that saw four lead changes, the Warriors were up a point going into the fourth quarter.  The Braves would score on a pick six but fail to complete the two-point conversion, going up 34-29.  The Warriors were down late, but they weren’t about to go to their homecoming dance after a loss.  They charged down the field and ran Colton Horak into the end zone, then passed it to complete the two-point conversion, going up 37-34.  There would be no more scoring.

Colton Horak was the man of the night on his senior homecoming, rushing for 150 yards and three touchdowns.  He also hauled in five receptions for 85 yards and a score.

With the win, WACO improves to 3-2 and will be preparing to face a Lone Tree squad coming off their third straight loss this Friday.  Kickoff in Lone Tree is set for 7:00.
