No. 3 Iowa Valley defended their home turf Friday with an 84-22 win over visiting Winfield-Mt. Union.
The Tigers set the tone early scoring five consecutive touchdowns to take a 34-0 lead before the Wolves got on the board. WMU broke through when Daunte Oepping found Christian Gerot for a 13 yard touchdown. The Tigers tacked on three more scores in the second quarter leaving the tally at 56-6 Iowa Valley at the half. The Wolves scored twice in the second half, once on an Oepping seven yard touchdown run, the other when Noah Sparrow fired a 39 yard strike to Jacob Kongable. The Wolves were outgained 527 to 257 on the night including 414 to 42 on the ground. WMU committed three turnovers. With the loss the Wolves are now 1-3 on the year and host HLV next Friday.
