Greg Schindler

A jury trial for a former Archer Appliance and Electronics employee charged with first degree theft has been pushed back.

According to Washington County Attorney John Gish, the trial that was set for Tuesday has been continued until October 30th, with a pretrial conference on October 19th, citing ongoing discovery for the plaintiff and the defendant, 54-year-old Greg Alan Schindler of Washington. Schindler was arrested on October 15th, 2017 for theft in the first degree, a class C felony. According to the criminal complaint while Schindler was the bookkeeper for the Washington-based store several deposits of days receipts were not deposited into the store’s bank account from the period of April 2014-April 2017 and the amount of money taken exceeded $10,000. Schindler was no longer employed at Archer when the theft was discovered. In the complaint Schindler stated that no one checked his work and to the best of his knowledge an outside audit was never conducted.
