Crop market expectations, weed management strategies, and best management practices for cover crops will be discussed at the Iowa State University Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm’s fall field day.
Farmers, farmer advisors, and the general public are invited to attend the free field day in which they will hear from Farm Superintendent Myron Rees, ISU professors Chad Hart, Mark Licht, and Alison Robertson, and Field Agronomist Meaghan Anderson.
Rees explains how the research provides a service to area producers, “Our focus is to do quality research that’s not biased in any way. I think we do a pretty good job of that and then we can put that out to the public, [and] you’re getting work from your own area and in many ways your own production practices.”
Attendees will have an opportunity to discuss concerns and ask questions with each of the speakers during the tour of the farm near Crawfordsville. Registration starts at 1 p.m. with the field day kicking off at 1:30 this Thursday. Certified Crop Advisor continuing education credits will also be available.
