After a rain-out last week, the Iowa Mennonite School cross country team got their season started Thursday in Williamsburg at the Raider Invitational.
On the boys side of the meet IMS finished in ninth place of 13 teams with 249 points. Center Point-Urbana won the meet with 76 points. Top finisher for IMS was Brian Maren with his time of 19:55, good for 38th place. Other IMS finishers included Noah Miller 42nd, Jacob Boller 47th, John Hughes 57th, Aaron Hershberger 67th, Jesse Slater 85th and Bronze Slabach 86th.
The Iowa Mennonite girls finished in ninth place of 12 teams with their score of 225 points. Team champion was Williamsburg with 45 points. Top finish for IMS came from Leah Bontrager in 21st with her time of 23:00. Other IMS runners included Sarena Gerber 26th, Mackenzie Gutierrez 68th, Esther Hughes 72nd, Julia Boller 78th, Rachel Geyer 85th and Ainsley Shaw 92nd. IMS will next be on the course Thursday at Fairfield.
