The Lone Tree Lion football team took their first win of the young season on Friday, beating Montezuma on the road 36-25. This week, they play their first home action of the year against sixth-ranked Iowa Valley (8/27 rankings, The Gazette).
The Lions and Tigers (but no Bears) each come into Friday’s game fresh off of two-score victories. The Lions beat Montezuma on the road, and Iowa Valley stuck to their home turf and beat WACO in Marengo 46-32.
After two straight weeks on the road, the Lions are raring to play under some familiar Friday night lights.
“I think it’s gonna be great. Because we’ve had two away games and gotten back beyond midnight for both of them,” head coach Aaron Bohr said. “So I think our guys are just going to enjoy being at their home stadium and playing in front of a home crowd.”
Kickoff in Lone Tree is scheduled for 7:00.
