Mid-Prairie School District residents are heading to the polls today for a special election to elect a new school board member.

Randy Billups and Emily Uhl are running for the seat left vacant by George Schaefer in June. The deadline to vote by absentee ballot at the Washington County Auditor’s Office is at 11 a.m. and polls will be open from noon-8 p.m. today at the Kalona Public Library, Parkside Activities Center in Wellman, and the West Chester Heritage Building.
