A Batavia woman was arrested on theft and drug charges Monday.
According to the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 504 Fourth Street in Batavia as part of a theft and illicit narcotics investigation. Thirty-three year-old Desiree Dawn Seibert was arrested and charged with second degree theft, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana, each a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, punishable by up to 30 days in jail. The Fairfield Police Department Special Response Team, Wapello County Sheriff’s Office, Southeast Iowa Inter-Agency Drug Task Force, and Iowa State Patrol assisted in the investigation.
