The 19th annual SIDS Foundation “Walk for the Future” will be held in Washington Saturday, August 25th.

SIDS is an acronym for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. This is the largest fundraising event that the nonprofit participates in. The walk is hosted by Tony and Tricia Lipski in honor of their son Jacob. Lipski described the walk by saying, “We host a walk every year in Washington to honor our son and spread awareness and support to other SIDS families who are not aware of the resources the Iowa SIDS Foundation offers.” Jacob passed away from SIDS in 2005. The walk in Washington will be held at 8:30a.m. Saturday at Sunset Park. Along with the walk, participants can enjoy refreshments, a raffle, kids activities, door prizes and a silent auction. Registration is available on-site the morning of the walk.
