This week marks one year since the citizens of Henry County voted in favor of a $9.1 million bond for a new county jail and law enforcement center.
To mark the anniversary the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Citizens Organized for Public Safety (COPS) are hosting an open house in the Henry County Courthouse rotunda on Thursday August 2nd from 5-8 p.m. Residents will have the opportunity to view the blueprints for the new facility and representatives from construction manager Midwest Construction, Sheriff Rich McNamee, and members of the COPS committee will be present to answer any questions about the project. The county broke ground on May 16th for the 24,000 square foot law enforcement center and jail to be located north of the Mount Pleasant Mental Health Institute on South Grand Avenue.
