Madie Anderson lit it up in the circle in her freshman season at Winfield-Mt. Union.  She was the only player on the Wolves roster to throw a pitch all season long, and did it well enough to earn herself a naming to the third all-state softball team.

Her second varsity season for the Wolves was quite an improvement from the first.  In the same number of starts (19), she improved her record by two and a half games, lowered her ERA by nearly an entire point and got over 100 more strikeouts in just 12.2 more innings pitched than her eighth-grade campaign.

This season, Anderson finished fifth in class 1A in strikeouts with 249, which she did in 10 to 13 less starts than the four players above her.  She was also one of only 19 pitchers in class 1A to put up an ERA under 2.

Anderson’s all-state honor adds to a first-team all-conference selection and a naming to the all-district team.  She will return next year for her sophomore season.
