The Highland Husky softball team saw their season come to an end on Tuesday night, falling in round two of the class 2A playoffs on the road to conference foe Wapello by a 4-0 score.

The Huskies just couldn’t seem to get the better of Wapello pitcher Eliza Noa, who threw all seven innings and gave up just three hits, walking none while striking out nine Husky batters.  Brylee Carolan, Haylee Sweeting, and Mackenzie Hora were the only Huskies to notch a hit in the loss.

Megan Hoening pitched well despite the loss, giving up nine hits and four runs (two earned) while punching out six.  She did not walk a single batter.

With the loss, the Huskies end their season at 14-13.  They graduate two seniors, Murphy Beinhart and Brylee Carolan, and retain the remaining 16.
