Motorists are advised of a lane closure south of Mount Pleasant next week.

According to the Iowa Department of Transportation work on northbound Highway 218 between Henry County Road J20 or Salem Road and River Road will require closing the roadway and bridge over the Skunk River to traffic from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, July 9th, weather permitting. Due to recent and anticipated rainfall the project was rescheduled from its original date of June 29th. A signed detour will direct motorists around the work zone which includes J20. The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones.
