The Mid-Prairie softball team hosted No. 1 in class 2A Durant on Tuesday night at Carr, Vincent, Gould Field in Kalona.

The Hawks were beaten in both ends of the doubleheader by scores of 10-2 and 10-0. Durant jumped out to a 4-0 lead in game one through the first four innings then scored five times in the fifth to put the game out of reach, racking up 13 hits in the contest. Wildcat starter Kamryn Meyer limited the Golden Hawks to just one hit.

Game two ended after just five innings, with the Wildcats scoring once in the first and then three times in each of the second, third and fourth innings. That was plenty of offense for Wildcat starter Jenna Lawson who threw the five inning no-hitter while striking out seven. With the sweep the Golden Hawks now stand at 3-13 on the year. They travel to Fairfield Wednesday night for a non-conference doubleheader.
