A Kalona woman was arrested after driving through a fence and hitting another vehicle over the holiday weekend.

According to the Washington County Communications Office at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, dispatch received a call from Kalona that a vehicle had driven through a fence, across the roadway and then through a yard. The vehicle left the area on Highway 1. A second call was received, stating the car had hit a vehicle at Westside Petro. A third call came in stating the same vehicle pulled in front of them cross Highway 1. Washington County Sheriff’s personnel responded and arrested 54-year-old Connie Elaine Blankenship for operating while intoxicated first offense. She was taken to the Washington County Jail.
