The Washington Demon boys and girls soccer teams are back in Southeast Conference action Monday when they take on the Fort Madison Bloodhounds.
The Demon boys are on a four match winning streak after a 5-1 win at Highland on Friday, led by Abdullah Talal’s first career hat trick. The winning streak is the longest for Washington in the last decade. Washington stands at 7-3. On the season the Demon offense is led by Caleb Suchan with six goals. Julio Salgado leads the Demons with three assists. In goal, Thomas Zimmer has recorded 42 saves.
Fort Madison enters play with a 3-7 overall record. They were beaten by Mount Pleasant Friday 5-1. On the season the Bloodhounds are led by Austin Sexton with seven goals. Miguel Trejo has the team lead with five assists. In goal Fort Madison is led by Javier Trejo with 54 saves. These two teams met in Washington earlier this year with the Demons claiming a 3-2 win.
The Washington girls enter tonight in search of their first match win of the season. In their last action the Demons fell to Keokuk on the road Thursday 2-0. Washington is led on the year by Abby Voss and Jessica Hora with one goal each. In goal, Olivia Pacha has made 117 saves this season.
Fort Madison is 5-5 on the year. They won at Davenport West Saturday 3-0. The Bloodhounds are led by Taylor Shannan with 12 goals on the year. Sarah Bernhardt has six assists to lead the team. In goal, Josie Pumphrey has made 49 saves. In their earlier season meeting Fort Madison scored a 6-0 win over the Demons. The girls start at 4:30 tonight in Washington while the varsity boys will be on the pitch at 7p.m. in Fort Madison.
