A water conservation order remains in effect for the City of Ainsworth.

The city is working to drill a new well after a collapse of the bottom 200 feet of casing of their original well occurred earlier this spring. This caused a drastic reduction in the well’s capacity to produce water. Ainsworth Water Treatment Plant Superintendent Chad McCleary says crews have been mobilizing equipment to drill the new well, but they are waiting for the Department of Natural Resource’s official approval to drill. The new well is anticipated to be in service in the next 30 days. Residents are asked to limit their water consumption until further notice.
