Several area track teams punched their ticket to this week’s Drake Relays with their performances in the early season.

The Sigourney Savages will send, the 4×100 relay team of Summer Barthelman, Heidi Clarahan, Brook Waecther, and Autum Barthelman. They made the field in 64th place of 80 competing Friday.

The Highland Huskies also have two qualifiers for the relays. The 4×100 relay team of Sarah Schneider, Aly Stokes, Kristy Thomann, Emily Yahnkee made the field in 47th place of 80. Emily Yahnkee also qualified in 13th place of 24 for Friday’s long jump.

The Drake Relays are held every year at Drake University in Des Moines. The relays have divisions from grade school to forty and over, bringing in some of the best talents from all over the world. The Drake Relays is Wednesday 25th to Saturday the 28th.
