The Iowa Mennonite School, Highland and Lone Tree boys and girls golf teams opened the season on a cool night at the Kalona Golf Course Thursday.
The Iowa Mennonite boys won the meet with a score of 222. IMS had the meet medalist with Trevor Leyden shooting a low round 45 and meet medalist runner-up with London Schrock shooting a 53.
Other scores for the IMS boys included Bronze Slabach 57 and Max Martens 67.
Lone Tree was second with a 231. Top score for the Lions came from Payton Lorack with a 56. Other scores for Lone Tree included Erek Edens and Cory Krueger at 57, Curtis Patterson with a 61, Jaxon Mullinix at 65 and Austin Marshek at 71.
Highland shot 260 as a team. Top score for the Huskies was Brady Hahn firing a 61. Other scores for the Huskies included Richard Dunbar 64, Grady Yeggy 65, Colton Mellinger and Zane Eagle 70, and Brogan Carolan 79.
No team scores were kept on the girls side but meet medalist was Kayla Cerney for Highland with a 64. Medalist runner-up was Abby Buckman of Lone Tree with a 65. Top score for IMS was Lara Kliewer with a 67.
