The Washington girls’ basketball team starts up their postseason journey tonight when they welcome Southeast Conference foe Fort Madison to town for the class 4A regional quarterfinal round.

Washington (6-15) had Fort Madison’s (1-20) number throughout the regular season sweeping them in two games by an average of 31 points. The Demons will look to bounce back from a three-game skid to end the regular season including falling to Mount Pleasant 44-38 on Friday. Sarah Nacos has led the Demons all year long in her senior campaign with 12 points per game. Addison Six, Brooke Stout, and Kira Ropp clean up the boards combining for 20 rebounds a contest.

Fort Madison is coming off of their first win of the season against Davis County 48-34 last week. Scoring has been scarce for the Bloodhounds but Sarah Bernhart leads them with six points per game and Anna Kester adds five.

The chance to move on gets started at 7 p.m. tonight at Washington High School. Tune into KCII starting at 6:30 p.m. to hear all of the playoff coverage.
