As Valentine’s Day approaches, the Wellman-Scofield Library is offering blind dates to patrons.
Except these potential suitors are wrapped with paper and string and will whisk you away with a story. Those interested in delving blindly into a new book can come to the Wellman-Scofield Library and check out one of their specially wrapped dates. Each book has clues written on the front as to the story genre, and Library Director Carol Wilkins explains how the staff has chosen the literary admirers, “We try to find something that is not a current book, maybe something that hasn’t been read in a while, some of them are classics. Something that hopefully someone will pick up a new author and enjoy it.”
The library will have an ongoing supply of blind dates during the month of February. Wilkins knows not all blind dates are satisfactory, so each book comes with a piece of chocolate to enjoy.
