Drought conditions remain unchanged in Iowa with 71% of the state abnormally dry and 8.13% in moderate drought.
The estimated population in drought areas is nearly 284,000 people. Areas of moderate drought can be found in most of Johnson and Henry Counties, and parts of Iowa, Louisa, and Jefferson Counties. Washington and Keokuk Counties are abnormally dry. At this time last year 13.89% of Iowa was abnormally dry and there were no areas of moderate drought.
