There is a blood shortage and the American Red Cross has issued an urgent call for blood and platelet donors across the country.

The recent severe winter weather impacted blood donations with more than 150 blood drives forced to cancel across the country. These cancellations caused over 5,500 blood and platelet donations to go uncollected.

According to the Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the U.S. Needs blood. January 25th a blood drive is being held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Keota and January 29th a blood drive is being held at the Riverside Fire Department, for details visit the KCII Community Calendar.
