In one week’s time Washington has seen the thermometer swing more than 40 degrees.
Last week, according to the National Weather Service, a new record low was set in Washington for January 2nd at -23 degrees. On Sunday, the temperature rose to a balmy 21 degrees according to the National Weather Service, and Monday it climbed above freezing. While 21 degrees may have felt warm after the recent cold spell, it was still nine degrees below the normal high temperature for January 7th.
