Area roads were partially covered with snow and ice Wednesday morning and multiple vehicles went off roadways.

According to the Washington County Communications Office, six vehicles went into the ditch along Highway 218 near Crawfordsville and Ainsworth between 6 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. At 7:46 a.m. a vehicle and trailer went into the median at the Crawfordsville turn off. At 10:51 a.m. a caller told dispatch he saw a vehicle slide off of Highway 218 near Crawfordsville and the driver appeared to be slumped over the wheel. Crawfordsville QRS, Crawfordsville Fire Department, Washington County Ambulance, Washington County Rescue, and Washington County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene. Crawfordsville QRS advised the vehicle and operator had been checked earlier and was waiting for a tow truck.
