Electronic smoking devices, home health care evaluations, and building opportunities were discussed at Thursday’s Washington County Board of Health meeting.
Administrator Danielle Pettit-Majewski explained that Story County recently passed an ordinance prohibiting the use of electronic smoking devices in public areas and asked the board if this is something they’d like to implement locally. The board expressed they’d prefer to see it addressed at a state level.
Supervisor Jack Seward said he’d received a letter asking about the Ainsworth Elementary School as a potential space for public health. The space had been considered previously. Pettit-Majewski said that it likely wouldn’t be conducive with staff traveling back and forth to Ainsworth, as well as renovations needed to make it a usable space for clinics. And board member Connie Larson said it wouldn’t be a centralized location in the county. The board also approved an update to the evaluation form used for home health direct supervision evaluations.
