The Highland School Board is asking for the district’s input this Wednesday.
The board is hosting a community meeting to discuss the possibility of sharing Lone Tree’s superintendent, as well as sharing Highland’s transportation director, building and grounds/maintenance director, and human resources director with Lone Tree. The two school boards have held several joint work sessions this fall discussing new sharing possibilities, as they already share vocational courses through a 28E agreement. According to Highland Interim Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgensen this new sharing agreement would mean an additional $139,944 of revenue for each district. Highland is seeing a revenue loss of $253,000 from their general fund this year because of an enrollment decrease. The community meeting will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Highland Media Center.
