The WACO (0-1) girls’ basketball team had a tough draw in their first game of the season, falling to defending Southeast Iowa Super Conference champion Central Lee (1-0) last night by a final score of 74-14.
The Lady Hawks scored early and often en route to a 51-10 lead heading into the break. Central Lee picked up right where they left off last year shooting 50% from the floor to cruise to the big win. The Lady Rockets had three players in double figures led by MacKenzie Northup with 28 points on eight of 15 shooting. Kiana Miller led the Warriors with nine points.
WACO will look to regroup for next week when they travel to Danville on Tuesday.
